Last weekend I was invited out to the La Quinta Resort & Club a Waldorf Astoria to view the property to host a yoga retreat in October at their beautiful location. What a treat it was to tour the gorgeous property, stay the night and experience the amenities as a guest. I was contacted by Eden Goldman, the director of yoga and mindfulness, a few months ago to host a retreat there but had so much on my plate at that time with my local retreats that I couldn't bring myself to plan a Palm Springs retreat. I'm so glad he was persistent and followed up with me a few times because this past week when he reached out again I felt ready and gladly accepted!
It's funny how things come full circle. You see two Aprils ago I attended Loyal Marymount University for their yoga studies program and Eden was my teacher, more so an Angel sent from above. There was something calling me to sign up for the program when I saw the one page spread in LA yoga magazine and for whatever reason I signed up for the 10 month course. Little did I know this program would be my saving grace through those ten months to follow. When a sudden break up and change in career ensued, Eden's class was the only thing I looked forward to during that difficult time.
Here I am two years later reflecting and everything makes complete sense. Why I was called to attend LMU, the strength and courage I received, Eden coming into my life, learning how to make yoga a career and this newfound connection to lead retreats at a beautiful luxury resort in La Quinta. I am extremely grateful and look forward to leading a restorative and relaxing retreat October 13-15.
